Today’s the day, my friends. SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS has officially hit shelves! I am so excited to share this book with you, which Publishers Weekly calls, “A charming story that effortlessly straddles the line between women’s fiction and romance,” and Barnes & Noble named one of their Top Indie Favorites for the months of February and March.

Keep reading for all the deets on the book!

"This book was the perfect escape. I couldn't get enough of it. It has just the right balance of love and drama. I can't wait to read the next book in the series." ~Janine, BookBub

SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS is Book One of my FEARLESS FAIRYTALE series and tells the story of Devon Jacobs, a timid, small town woman who dreams of moving to LA and writing for television. After getting rejected by the man she loves, outgrowing friendships and tiring of an unfulfilling job, she boldly jets off to Hollywood and changes her life.

The idea for this story had been in my heart for years. When I began writing for Tule Publishing, I decided that it was finally time to put pen to paper and share Devon’s journey with the world.

There are several things that inspired me to write SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS. For starters, I love all things Hollywood and the inner workings of the entertainment industry. My affection for California developed during my preteens years, back when I was engrossed in Francine Pascal’s SWEET VALLEY HIGH series and living vicariously through characters Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield’s southern Cali lifestyle. In addition to the west coast, SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS was also inspired by small-town living, strong friendships, the concept of self-love, and slow burn/second chance romance.

As for my heroine, Devon is a sweetheart and has such wonderful intentions. Her character is relatable in that she’s vulnerable, imperfect, and honest in her quest to find happiness. I hope that readers will admire the courage she displays during difficult situations, and the ways in which she fought off her insecurities despite her fears in order to blossom into the woman she always dreamed of becoming.

My hero, Ryan Roberts, is the man we all dream of. He is a handsome, well-known actor, yet he’s down to earth and never forgot where he came from. Ryan’s a strong man of integrity who doesn’t compromise his beliefs. His kindness and lack of superficiality, despite his celebrity status, are both refreshing and admirable.

My main characters met on the set of their hit television show “Here to Stay,” where Devon works as a production assistant and Ryan is a lead actor. Writing their scenes was such a pleasure that came naturally to me. The organic flow of their interactions, dialogue, sexual tension and palpable chemistry helped build a strong bond between the pair.

I wrote SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS in hopes that it will inspire readers to pursue their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. I also hope it promotes the pursuit of self-discovery and self-love, and the idea that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Lastly, my wish is that the book will encourage strong, positive female friendships and healthy romantic relationships.

Book Two in the FEARLESS FAIRYTALE series, SHE GETS WHAT SHE DESERVES, will be released in September. As for my other releases, I’ve got two romantic suspense novels with Harlequin Intrigue titled COLD CASE, TRUE CRIME (June) and CAPTURED AT CHRISTMAS (December). My sweet holiday romance, CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM, hits shelves in October.

I hope that you enjoy reading SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS as much as I enjoyed writing it. For more on the book and to purchase a copy, CLICK HEREAnd for regular updates on my writing journey, weekly activities, features and more, follow me HERE on Instagram!
