Happy New Year + Indie Bookstore/Yard Store Day!

Happy New Year, friends! This is a bit of a late post, but I'd be remiss if I didn't share all the fun I had during 2025's Independent Bookstore/Local Yarn Store Day at Miss Purl's Yarn Store! Keep reading for all the deets on how Kamaca Champion (Miss Purl herself) and I teamed up to celebrate the occasion...

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Local Yarn Store + Independent Bookstore Day, both of which landed on the same day...
The turnout was amazing, with lots of great shopping, book signings, giveaways, storytelling sessions, a spirited Customer Show & Tell, and so much more!

After an impromptu Q&A session on writing, Miss Purl and I realized that many of those who dropped in are writers, aspiring authors, or just curious about the craft. So, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting a roundtable discussion for creatives this year!  It’ll be an open forum for conversations, brainstorming, questions, and all things related to the art of writing.

One thing I kept hearing from customers is how much they love hanging out at Miss Purl because it’s a safe space where they can openly share projects, WIPs, goals, setbacks, and everything in between. We’ll approach this roundtable with the same spirit. It will be a judgment-free zone for sharing knowledge, ideas, and inspiration. Whether you want to join for motivation or just listen while you work on your current project, you’re welcome to join us. More details coming soon!
Miss Purl & PREYED UPON
Stephanie & Her Book Bundle
This event was all the more special as it was my first time sharing my Harlequin Intrigue release, PREYED UPON, with Miss Purl's customers. Here's more on Book 5 in A West Coast Crime Story series:

Her presence is a threat to people in her hometown...

Forced into early retirement from the Chicago police department for her own safety, Chloe Grant moves back to Maxwell, Arizona. Her podcast about murdered women starts out as a way to keep herself busy in her sleepy hometown. Reconnecting with Troy Miller—now a rookie in the local PD—also promises to make her new life a little more interesting. Then a copycat starts reenacting the cases she covers on her podcast, and they both realize that Chloe didn’t leave danger behind when she left the big city…
