Love's Sweet Arrow Bookstore Event with Beverly Jenkins

 

This past weekend owes me nothing! I attended Love Sweet Arrow's book event celebrating legendary author Beverly Jenkins' latest release, A Christmas to Remember, and had such a wonderful time. Keep reading to hear all about it!

On Saturday, November 11th, the Love's Sweet Arrow Romance Bookstore hosted Beverly Jenkins and her special guests, Sean D. Young and Sherelle Green, at Tinley Park's lovely Historical Society. Many of Ms. Beverly's biggest fans gathered to discuss Book 11 in her Blessings series, A Christmas to Remember. We were treated to a live reading, book signing and in-depth Q&A, where we discussed everything from how Ms. Beverly landed her first book deal to ways in which she's passing the torch to newer writers.

Author Sean D. Young

Panelist Sean D. Young, who's known for her sweet small town love stories and spicy contemporary romance, discussed her 20+ year friendship with Ms. Beverly and shared how generous the guest of honor has been in encouraging fellow authors. As for Sean, she has penned a dozen books, including Secrets from the Heart and The Point of It All. Make sure you check out her latest release, Love's Awakening, which hit shelves in September. 📚 

I snagged signed copies of Sean's novels and can't wait to crack them open!

Author Sherelle Green

Ms. Beverly's other panelist, Sherelle Green, is known for her sexy and emotionally stirring love stories layered with gritty drama. She's penned over two dozen books and, while discussing her author journey with the audience, spoke on how pivotal Ms. Beverly has been in keeping writers motivated during the most tumultuous moments in their careers.

I snapped up two signed copies of Sherelle's books, Mr. Straight Up No Chaser and The Grinch's Roommate. Fun fact: Sherelle once wrote for Harlequin's Kimani line and has such a wonderful personality/spirit! 💖

I had the pleasure of meeting fellow Harlequin author Kathy Douglass and book influencer Radiah Hubbert, who runs the popular African-American fiction website, UrbanReviewsOnline.com. And I finally met book influencer Midnight Ace Book Bar (not pictured), who I've been chatting with online/via Zoom for the past few years. Midnight and I shared more hugs than I can count and promised to do something book-related for her followers soon!

As you can see, by the end of the night we were all smiles. 🤗 Here I am with Sherelle, Kathy, Sean and author Barbara Keaton Stubblefield.
