Have you had a chance to visit Harlequin’s webpage that’s dedicated to romance stories written by Black authors? Keep reading to find out all about it, then check out some of my favorite authors that are being featured.
Back in June of 2020, Harlequin Books announced that they are making an effort to publish more diverse voices and stories. Black and #OwnVoices authors were especially targeted in this push to represent a larger community. Here's what the publisher had to say about their endeavor:
"The romance writing and reading community includes people of all backgrounds, communities and cultures who share an enjoyment of stories that celebrate love and happiness. Harlequin is committed to bringing readers a wide range of stories that reflect our diverse society."
As an African-American romance author, I am thrilled with this effort as it will better represent the voices of my community. I've been writing romance for years and couldn't have been happier to sign with Harlequin back in 2020. I have several projects in the works with Intrigue and Medical Romance, and hope to write for additional lines in the future.
I was recently featured on Harlequin Books' "Romance Stories by Black Authors" page, along with many other writers of color. Here are several of the authors being showcased:

“He’s a courageous man…But can he rescue himself?” ~A FAMILY FOR THE FIREFIGHTER by Jacqueline Thomas ️
“A fake relationship leads to real love in this charming opposites-attract romance…” ~THE SWEETEST CHARADE by Jadesola James

“She needs a husband…fast. Could her former flame be perfect for the job?” ~JUST A LITTLE MARRIED by Reese Ryan
