Good news, friends! THE HEART-SHAPED MURDERS is now available wherever books are sold. CLICK HERE for buy links, then keep reading to check out a few of the fun media stops the book has already made, and to hear all about a couple of exciting announcements!

Catching serial killers is her specialty
Until one follows her home

Attacked and left with a partial heart-shaped symbol carved into her chest, forensic investigator Lena Love finds her latest hunt has become personal. But leaving LA to return to her hometown comes with its own danger—like detective David Hudson, the love she left behind. And soon sparks fly, even as Lena is targeted and stalked, and bodies—all marked with the killer’s signature heart—are discovered in David’s jurisdiction…

Book lover Aaron Taylor recently filmed a video over on Harlequin's YouTube Channel, where he shared his list of new must-read miniseries. I am so excited that he included The Heart-Shaped Murders, which is Book 1 in my West Coast Crime Story series. CLICK HERE to see the video!

On May 10th, THE HEART-SHAPED MURDERS was book club president Toni Bonita's Book of the Day! In celebration of that, she also did a live reading from the novel over in her Book Nook. CLICK HERE to check it out!

Earlier this month, I hung out with the Write for Harlequin Facebook Group and discussed a few tips on how to start writing a novel. Here is some of what I shared:

"Just start. Start the book. Get the words down, then keep going. Push all your fears aside, believe you can do it, and write. You’ll never know how far you can go until you finish the book and put it out into the world. You just have to start."

Now, on to the announcements. With Christmas in July coming soon, I am going to be sharing some VERY exciting news about my 2021 holiday release with Tule Publishing, CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM. In case you forgot what this one's about, here's the blurb:

This Christmas, can they slow down long enough to smell the roses and fall in love?

When savvy, up-and-coming floral designer Lauren Beal returns home to Maple Valley, Michigan, for her sister's holiday wedding, she’s determined to be the perfect maid of honor. She didn’t expect the best man to be the college crush she’d reluctantly left behind to pursue her Chicago-based dreams.

Family practice doctor Mel Jennings always knew he’d remain rooted in Maple Valley to work for his father’s clinic. He happily juggles his demanding practice with philanthropic endeavors that connect him to his tight-knit community. Sparks fly when he reunites with Lauren, the one who ran away. As they enjoy Maple Valley’s Christmas festivities, Mel remembers how close they once were. But can they ever have a future?

Lauren finds herself falling for Mel and suspects the feelings are mutual. Yet they’re both pulled in different directions by work and family. Will the pair find a moment alone during the hectic holiday season to figure things out, or will they miss their chance at love once again?

It's a bit too early for me to share exactly what's in the works for CHRISTMAS IN FULL BLOOM, but trust me, it'll be worth the wait. Stay tuned!

Also, I am thrilled to have two projects being released by Harlequin this Christmas. BACKCOUNTRY COVER-UP is my next Intrigue release, and it goes on sale November 1st. In it, you'll meet
Todd Jacobson, a deputy sheriff whose sister died under mysterious circumstances. Her best friend, private investigator Elle Scott, agrees to help Todd prove she was murdered. When Elle infiltrates an unusual, elite social club, she becomes embroiled in a scheme of high-stakes payouts and deadly consequences. And Todd realizes he’s Elle’s only hope against becoming a corpse under the tree this Christmas.

I am also working on a short Christmas story for Intrigue, A DEADLY CHRISTMAS INVITATION. It's about a law enforcement officer (Sara Berman) who's severely injured by a depraved serial killer. Once he is behind bars, Sara takes some time off from the force. As the holiday season approaches, she's invited to the elaborate grand opening of The Buckner Inn Resort. Sara invites her sergeant, Rob Goodall, to join her as a thank you for apprehending the killer. But he backs out at the last minute, and when Sara arrives at the inn, she realizes that the event isn't quite what she'd expected...

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you'll check out THE HEART-SHAPED MURDERS, and I'll keep you posted as the updates continue to roll in. Happy Summer! 🌻

  1. Interesting angle taken on love, life, etc. in many books. Nice name (cf Dennis Wheatley) if you are interested in Halloween, the devil's daughter and the like. But Denise is different Dennis, and he had never used a middle name, nor even an initial. Weird to have authors with such similar (and unusual) names. However, the middle N must stand for another distinguishing name, which obviously must be a feminine name, but so far nothing I find online tells me what this is. So what is your "N"?
    Thanks
